Mariposa’s Committees

Mariposa’s goal is to teach the whole child—encompassing their heart, head, and hands. One of our tenants is for parents to be a part of their child’s education and to become a strong part of the Mariposa community. In reverence to Mariposa’s goals and tenants, all committees led by CAPTnS are hosted under the umbrella categories of Heads, Hearts, and Hands. Committees provide a forum for parents to express ideas and concerns, while giving them the chance to work together to make Mariposa the best school possible.

  • Heads

    The Heads umbrella creates opportunities for parent education and learning about Mariposa and its tenants through the following committees:

    Waldorf Parent Education, Slow Tech, and Green (AKA Zero Waste).

  • Hearts

    The Hearts umbrella nourishes a culture in which all feel cherished and appreciated, bringing people together and providing hospitality through the following committees:

    Yearbook, Shining Lights Mariposa’s Talent Show, Care Outreach to Mariposa families with any kind of need, and Wellness.

  • Hands

    The Hands umbrella contributes physical support to our school through the following committees:

    Mariposa Made It Handmade items donated to sell at Winter Faire, Handwork Creating handmade items for grade specific traditions, Gnome Sweet Gnome Homemade baked goods for events, Winter Faire Our beloved annual school carnival and fundraiser, and Enchanted Attic (thrift store) A second hand clothing, books, and goods popup.
