Volunteer At Mariposa

Volunteering is an important part of Mariposa’s philosophy and a key requirement for us to maintain our public Waldorf status. We ask individuals to contribute 8 hours per month—opportunities to earn hours on campus and beyond are available throughout the school year at our annual events such as Winter Faire, Eagle Chase and May Faire and more. Please fill out the interest form below to be contacted about upcoming volunteer opportunities through CAPTnS!

More details about volunteering are located below the interest form.

Head, Hearts & Hands

Mariposa’s goal is to teach the whole child—encompassing their heart, head, and hands. One of our Waldorf tenants is for parents to be a part of their child’s education and to become a strong part of the Mariposa community. Volunteering is one way to accomplish this in ways such as:

  • Heads

Parent education and learning about Mariposa and its tenants through the following areas:

Waldorf Parent Education, Mindful Tech, and Green (AKA Zero Waste).

  • Hearts

Nourishing a culture in which all feel cherished and appreciated, bringing people together and providing hospitality through the following areas:

Yearbook, Shining Lights Mariposa’s Talent Show, Staff Appreciation, and Wellness.

  • Hands

Physical support to our school through the following areas:

Mariposa Made It Handmade items donated to sell at Winter Faire, Handwork Creating handmade items for grade specific traditions, Gnome Sweet Gnome Homemade baked goods for events, Winter Faire Our beloved annual school carnival and fundraiser, Eagle Chase jog-a-thon fundraiser, Butterfly Ball spring gala, and The Attic (thrift store) A second hand clothing, books, and goods popup.
